Logistics Manager

Description

The Logistics Manager will be responsible for our overall supply chain management. The position is responsible in managing all scrap transportation of our sales and purchase order requirements to enhance business development, ensure sustainability and overall customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Strategically plan and manage logistics, transportation, and customer service
• Direct, optimize and coordinate scrap pickup and delivery
• Liaise and negotiate with 3rd party haulers
• Keep track of quality, quantity, scrap levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
• Plan routes and process shipments
• Resolve any arising problems, complaints, or customer service issues
• Supervise, coach, and train the transportation workforce
• Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets
• Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement process improvements
• Comply with laws, regulations and BRMT requirements
• Hiring and training staff, dispatchers, and truck drivers
• Coordinating staff schedules
• Improving the efficiency of the company’s transportation and human assets
• Negotiating transportation costs

Requirements

• BSc & MSc Degree in supply chain or relevant field is required
• Relevant professional Certifications
• 10+ years of related experience with scrap transportation
• Record of successful distribution and logistics management
• Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff
• Proficient in standard logistics software
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
